So I was just flipping through the channels and came across Showbiz tonight and they were airing an interview from Peter King NY Congressman who just totally verbally bashes him. Are you kidding me here sir? He calls him a child molester, a pervert and says the world doesn't need to devote it's attention to him. Sir, I don't know who you are but you need to shut the hell up.
I understand we all have our right to free speech but this man is ridiculous. The man is a musical genius and this is how he should be remembered by, and for you some arrogant jackass to come out and say this, is completely out of line. The world should care about the work of Michael Jackson and while I fully understand that there are bigger issues we should be concerned with, the world doesn't always have to be so serious, because let's face it, we're not.
There comes a time in all of our lives where an icon of the entertainment industry will pass away and Michael Jackson was an icon and for this man to come out and call him these labels is just utterly pathetic and disrespectful. So to you Peter King, why don't you shut your mouth and let the country remember one of it's greatest if not it's greatest single entertainer any of us have ever seen.

While Michael Jackson was definitely a musical genius, he was also a child molester who decided to settle his case out of court and pay off a family millions of dollars as not to be proven guilty...and he died due to a drug overdoes...what kind of icon is that? really? Give Peter some credit...the man speaks the truth.
ReplyDeleteWaiting for a comeback TK!! How do you feel about your rant now?
ReplyDeleteSettle down settle down... while I don't endorse the actions of this man, I simply said it's not what the man should be remembered by. He was one of the most admired artists of his time and still is today even in death. I don't know the exact details of how the whole out of court thing went and I'm sure I don't want to know.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the first time a respected celebrity settled something out of court. O.J. Simpson, need I say more. I'm not endorsing anyone, I just think he should be remembered as an entertainer. Everyone has their flaws but he did a lot more good in the world then bad.
True, true..MJ was an amazing entertainer and artist...HOWEVER...I do find it a bit annoying how everyone in the world mocks the guy and magazines tear him apart and the media does nothing good for him the whole last 5 years of his life..and then when Michael dies he becomes a hero. Whats that all about? AND..to top it off...all of the black people in the world come together and speak at his memorial service saying what wonderful things he has done for African Americans everywhere and how he has helped them come so far when in the mean time Michael is dying his whole face and body white as can be. But don't get me wrong...very talented artist...I do LOVE his music and moves. Dance moves that is....
ReplyDeletei found that annoying as well. magic johnson crediting michael to making him a better basketball player? give me a break. i do find it funny as well that the media tore him apart and now worships his entire life, oh well, that is the media for you.
ReplyDeleteSo true TK...
ReplyDeleteWhile I won't agree with Peter King 100%, I do tend to agree with his point of view more on this one.
ReplyDeleteYour point is well taken about not being so serious all the time. We should not be, as a society. But it is seriously getting to the point where we are all about fun and pleasure.
My main gripe is the media coverage. There is no way that Jackson's memorial should be top and center over Obama's trip to Russia, which could have long-term implications. The city of Los Angeles... they throw a fucking memorial party without having a ironclad plan of paying for it!
I won't be one of those borish people who say his music sucked and all. He was talented. But there was a lot more to him than great music, a very disturbing side that many people chose to ignore. Should we all celebrate O.J. Simpson's life when he dies and just forget the whole double-murder?
