TK takes on the state of TV Fall 2009 Edition: The Bad Shows!

Well for those who don't know I'm very into the world of media obviously as many of my blogs revolve around TV, Music and Movies. So you know I like to talk TV and figured after watching a couple of new fall shows this year and getting back into the ones I've been watching for a couple of seasons I'd like to address some concerns I have with some of the shows I watch.

Let's take a look at the worst shows on TV by day, shall we?

Sundays-
The worst- The Cleveland Show.
Well maybe it's not fair to put this show there because they've only aired two episodes and I have only watched one but talk about trash. I didn't and I repeat didn't laugh out loud once during this Family Guy spin off that features Cleveland Brown in a whole new world. The thing that makes this show fail is the characters. The neighbors aren't funny, the flashbacks aren't there and oh yeah Cleveland and his family aren't funny by themselves.

Take a look at the Griffins. Peter is hilarious by himself and all the family members, Lois, Chris, Stewie and even Meg bring something to the tables as individuals. I think it was very premature to give Cleveland his own show and I just don't see it lasting. I think they should of kept Cleveland as part of the Family Guy fab four instead of putting one of it's greatest characters in a new town that lets face it, ain't no Quahog.

Recap: Sunday's are actually a good night for TV but we'll touch on that later... but The Cleveland Show takes the honor of being the worst show on Sunday nights!

Mondays-
I need to do something different for this show because it's not terrible but I have to come clean with myself and the general public and say this show isn't nearly as good as it was when it debuted a couple of years ago. Heroes!

Heroes when it first came out was something that absolutely had me sitting in front of my television set every Monday night just wondering what was going to happen next. And after watching last night's episode, I almost just don't care. The show wastes too much time worrying about irrelevant stupid things instead of developing a story and characters. Take last night's episode. Hiro tries to save some guy at his company who is going to jump off the building because he is ashamed that he photo copied his butt. Give me a break!

So what does Heroes do, we waste about 14 or so minutes on this garbage instead of I don't know spending it on new stories and characters like the Carnival people. Heroes is all over the map and it's just becoming harder and harder to watch and I've come to peace with it. The show is sadly on a lost road covered in very thick fog and it's just one that the Heroes no matter what power they use will ever be able to escape from!

Tuesday's and Wednesday's are in the clear. In part two I'll touch on some shows that are actually on the best list and are quite refreshing on TV this Fall season, so stay tuned for that.

Thursday's-
The worst- It pains me to put this show on the chopping block but I've tried so hard to like this show and kind of did in the beginning but so far this season it hasn't kept me laughing. Parks and Recreation!

I really tried to like this show my friends but just haven't fallen in love with any of the characters and sorry does this show have a general storyline other then the stupid pit? Amy Poehler has her moments on the show but other then her the show's supporting cast is very weak. Rashida Jones, isn't funny and Aziz Ansari is the only one other then Amy who can make me laugh and the laughs are few and far between.

I just feel that after I watch it each week that the show and it's creative team are afraid to take the story somewhere and it shows. I don't laugh much anymore during a P&R episode and it's a shame because I wanted this show to work and last but sadly I don't think it's going to survive this fall season considering the time slot and the other new shows and competition that it faces each week. So watch out Andy (Chris Pratt) you may have company joining you in the pit pretty soon!

Another show that gets the sticker of being not good this fall season is a fellow NBC show- Community!

Sorry but for all the hype this show got I'm just not buying what they're selling. Maybe I just don't get the show's humor but I just think the show is very boring. Joel McHale and Chevy Chase can provide some good one-liners at times but other then that I'm just losing interest with each new episode and I think other viewers are also because ratings are starting to show that.

Community I think was way too hyped up and it's just not delivering. I don't think the show offers characters we can really get attached too, to be honest. I don't find myself wanting to tune in anymore and I honestly think it's time to delete these from the DVR because I think Community's time might be on a very short leash!

Friday's well they don't count, no one watches Friday shows ha!

Saturday-s
The worst- This one may be the easiest night of the week. Saturday Night Live!

What the hell has happened to this show? With two new episodes under their belt this season I have found myself so disinterested with a show that I have loved watching since I was a kid. Megan Fox and Ryan Reynolds were both very very boring as hosts and the sketches this year have been pathetic.

Is it just possible to have Justin Timberlake as the show's permanent host, because other then him, there is no one else worth hosting it seems. This past week for example I was expecting a lot with Ryan Reynolds as host. He is a very funny and talented guy but his talents didn't shine through at all as his sketches were very boring and very not funny! The digital short this week with Andy Samberg almost made me want to shoot myself.

What the hell is his appeal? Throw things on the ground? Really? God this show reaches new lows each week and better hire some fresh new writers and players soon before it's too late. Or I guess we could just have Lady GaGa get more screen time then the host, cause that was brilliant also!

So there you have it, the worst of the worst of the Fall 2009 TV season. I can't wait to feel a bit better about what I watch as I'll be posting the Best of the Fall 2009 TV season shortly, so keep a look out for that.

Until then, happy viewing!
