American Idol Top 7: Idol goes to the movies!
Have been killing it the last two week friends. Have correctly picked the last two finalists to be eliminated and I hope to continue that roll this week, so on with the show.
This week's theme- Films from the movies!
Guest mentor, the one and only Quentin Tarantino!
And now dim the lights, roll sound, and on with the Top 7!
-Allison Iraheta, sings I Don't Want to Miss A Thing
Recap: One of my all time favorite songs and it can not be done better then by Steven Tyler. She sounds a little bit off tonight for my liking and some of the notes aren't that good, and the song for me doesn't work that well. One of her weaker performances in my opinion, and I just didn't enjoy it that much, sorry Allison.
Judges: Paula praises her, calls her authentic. Simon, calls it hot and spicy, calls her the girls only hope in the competition.
TK's take: First of the night, but it didn't work well for me but the judges love it, could be in trouble.
-Anoop Desai, sings Everything I Do
Recap: Well nothing will top the Stewie performance of this song on a recent 'Family Guy' episode, so on with Anoop. Love the beginning, it is very chilled out and his voice sounds good on it. I think this is one of his better performances of the entire season, and nails the ending, love his rendition of the song, great job.
Judges: Randy likes it, says he has found his zone. Kara digs it, says it's one of his best.
TK's take: Kills it tonight, and should easily be safe this week and into the next round!
-Adam Lambert, sings Born to be Wild
Recap: Well before he starts, I love this song. The beginning just rocks, love how he sounds on the track. He makes everything he does his own and that is what an artist does. Could of used a little more screaming, but otherwise he kills it again, he is the shows rocker and definitely rocks it out tonight. Amazing job as usual and the ending is fantastic, absolutely fantastic.
Judges: Paula loves him, and rambles on... Simon calls it vocally incredible.
TK's take: THE BOMB! KILLS IT, AND IS EASILY SAFE, ROCK ON DUDE!!!
-Matt Giraud, sings Really Love a Woman
Recap: Just wanted to say the song is awesome, now to Matt. Goes onto the piano tonight and does a pretty decent job. Kind of hard to follow Adam but does a pretty solid job. Still not sold on his voice and sounds a bit rough at points, but thats my opinion of course. A little rough in the middle/end and I think he struggles, and just think he falls flat tonight.Judges: Randy says it is a struggle, and Kara thinks it's not one of his best.
TK's take: Could be in some trouble tonight, possibly bottom three, stay tuned.
-Danny Gokey, sings Endless Love.
Recap: My season favorite's turn. This is a huge vocal song, and I think he does a good job with it. It is a very laid back slow ballad and he does make it his own. I like when songs sound completely different from the original and that is exactly what he does. It is one his stronger performances of the season so far and should be sitting back with no worries.
Judges: Paula enjoys it, says it's beautiful, and Simon is disappointed with just a traditional version of the song.
TK's take: Judges words aren't the greatest, but he should be safe and into the next round.
-Kris Allen, sings Falling Slowly
Recap: Have never heard the song before but it wasn't bad. I don't think it was one of Kris' best performances, but it sounds alright. Out of all the guys tonight, probably the least memorable, so that's not always a good thing.
Judges: Randy doesn't really like it, once again, he agrees with Tim, and Kara loves it.
TK's take: I think he might be in trouble tonight but stay tuned.
-Lil Rounds, sings (I didn't catch the title) sorry!
Recap: Sounds just ok, I don't think she does anything to help herself out here, she has been falling for weeks and her voice is so shaky this week, I think it's time that the public realizes she is just an average singer and is clearly not going to win this show.
Judges: Paula doesn't really critique her at all, and Simon says she is getting this wrong.
TK's take: Doesn't help herself out, song is shaky and she just doesn't sound that great to me, I think she is in trouble tonight.
Quentin actually knows what he is talking about, was a very good mentor I believe.
TK's best performance of the night: Adam Lambert for sure!!!
TK's worst performance of the night: Matt Giraud and Kris Allen, sorry wasn't that great.
Bottom Three:
-Matt Giraud
-Kris Allen
-Lil Rounds
Well I've gone two for two in correct eliminations the past few weeks and I think I'll get it right this week.
So going home this week will be Lil Rounds and I honestly think this will the week the judges really debate using their save pick but it will NOT be used, and Lil Rounds is sent packing and our final 6 are set.
