'The Office: Dream Team'
Well I think it's safe to say that in order to do this recap properly I should make a list, or is it get dressed first I can never tell. I got it, I'll eat a very hardy breakfast first. Ah it feels like forever since 'The Office' has been on and I'm so glad it's back. Remember that when you call, make sure you're transferred to the right extension, your call is very important to us.
Enter this week we find that Michael and Pam are getting the Michael Scott Paper Company going off the ground and from his condo, which of course he can't do. So the two put together a list and on the list is to go get a salesman and of course Michael wants to get Ryan because he's everything he wants to be in a person or something like that.
Back at Dunder Mifflin, Jim is still getting grilled by Charles and Dwight has an awesome one on one with the camera and says “Oh the new boss doesn't find Jim adorable!” Of course in comes our favorite kiss ass Andy Bernard as he notices the boss walking by he has a soccer screen saver up on his computer and gets into a chat all about soccer. Of course he asks Jim if he likes soccer and goes no, I'm a player.
Hilarious when Dwight says “Well Jim, I didn't know you played soccer. You've never mentioned you played it before.” It is so funny to see how he loves to mess with Jim, and edges him on until the two set up a soccer game for later in the parking lot, where Jim's strategy is to touch the ball as little as possible while passing it to others because it's all about teamwork.
Michael determined to establish his dream team goes back to the telemarketing place and recruits Vikrum, (sorry not sure on spelling.) Vikrum at first seems eager to work for Michael but then of course when things don't go well they drop him off and slam the door on him. Then of course he goes to take a 'bathroom' break at a local bowling alley where there we see Ryan working as the shoe bitch. Ryan now having blond hair of course comes with them and there they set off to meet the investor. For Michael says, “Everyone deserves a second second chance.” Great line.
We ultimately discover that the investor is Michael's nana and her investor club and after listening to his proposition she rejects it and they are forced again to start searching. Pam has a breakdown and questions why she ever left her job at Dunder Mifflin and says if she was going to do something crazy she could of just gotten a tattoo on her ankle ha. It is then when Michael explains to Pam he is serious about doing this because well he has no other options because they both quit their jobs and does his best work when he is rejected, so sincere when he delivers that speech to Pam.
A bit of good news for the dream team as Michael is able to secure a office and what would you know its in the basement below Dunder Mifflin, how funny was that, specifically when Pam is waving to Jim while they are playing soccer. I almost fell out of my chair laughing when Charles kicked the ball into Phyllis' head. And then hearing Dwight say, “why would an experienced soccer player like yourself duck at the very last moment.” He is just so cruel its ridiculous. And Phyllis mumbles I swallowed a crown.
All in all a good episode. Loved the closing line that Michael delivers, “Keep your friends close,” and he just stares into the camera, that was awesome.
Random Notes from tonight:
When Ryan asks, “Want to hear about Thailand, indescribable.” That was funny.
Kevin in the beginning running from phone to phone doing the transfer.
Then Andy saying, “My maid died!”
Jim vs Dwight was again brilliant and it never will get old.
