'Fast and Furious kicks it into over drive!'
So this movie definitely had the original casts but boy were there a lot of new 'body' parts, and I'm not just talking about the sweet cars.. Guys, if you liked the original 'Fast and the Furious' then this movie will keep your heart racing. Girl on girl action, hot chicks, good looking cars and killer races need I say more? Yes I am a fan of this movie franchise and must say I was kind of excited to see that they were indeed all reuniting to put a close on the franchise... well maybe not! I wouldn't want to spoil that just yet..
The action scenes in this movie are really well done and I would say are some of the best I've seen on the big screen in some time. The movie's plot revolves around a main character's murder and then the rest of the crew set out to avenge their death. The story line stays very well tied together and it never really steers off track, which some of the other films have tended to do. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker both dive right back in and work well as a team just like in the original and it's nice to see the other leading ladies Michelle Rodriguez and the amazingly beautiful Jordana Brewster again as they both compliment our heroes well.
A lot has changed for our main character's but in a way nothing has except time. Diesel and Rodriguez are still up to their old tricks and are still an item, while Walker has now joined the F.B.I. and is trying to turn over a new leaf, but once the bad guy always the bad guy right? The movie kicks it into drive from the moment the picture starts rolling and doesn't ever slow down. The race in the middle of the movie is full of high octane action (sorry for the car references) that when you leave you have the feeling to just go and enter yourself in a race.
Diesel and Walker are forced to come together in order to take down Carpos, the films villain who hires new drivers in order to transport some illegal drugs. And not everything meets the eye when it comes to this guy and his hired guns as tricks are played back and forth throughout the whole movie and their intentions are fully revealed only angering our two guys even further, and it all ultimately ends in one hell of a drive scene conclusion that will just blow your mind. It all comes together very nicely and I still can't get it out of my head.
Now while I don't want to ruin the movie for those who haven't seen it, I will say there is a 'major' door that is left open for a possible 5th movie in this franchise as the ending will definitely leave you wanting more. And with an opening weekend record of 72.5 million dollars, it's going to be hard for these actors and the studios to ignore that the demand for this franchise is very alive and well. Who knew it would only take a new oil change to get this movie back to it's prominence.
'Fast and Furious' gets 4 out of 5 stars.
