TK's Top 10 Songs of All Time- Numbers 8 and 7

Well I think the countdown has gotten off to a good start wouldn't you folks agree? But I think it's time for me to take it up a notch, and I can't think of a better way to do that then with the next two songs on my Top 10 songs of all time. So enough sugar coating it, it's time to unveil numbers 8 and 7.

Number 8- Led Zeppelin- Stairway to Heaven

The most played song of all time folks has arrived and has earned a very secure spot on my countdown as there wont be any stairway denied here. The eight minute rock classic and ballad is known worldwide and how can you not love this song? It's one of the most recognizable songs in history and yes the most played. The thing that makes this song so great is Robert Plant's vocals. The way he tells the story and delivers it through his vocals is kind of eerie and memorizing at the same time, it's kind of bone chilling.

And of course I won't forget Jimmy Page and his amazing playing especially the solo at the end of the song. His guitar playing is just clearly out of this world and it shows more then ever on this song. The rhythm and drums also just add to the overall atmosphere that this song can take you and its out of this world. It goes from being so smooth in the beginning and generally builds and builds before erupting into a rock volcano.

Led Zeppelin defines what rock and roll is all about and in my opinion are the fore-fathers of the industry. Their songs including their biggest, Stairway to Heaven changed the way people listen to music and how bands create music after hearing Zep. Zeppelin did it all and left their mark on music and they are the only band to have two songs on my list. That's right more Zeppelin to come! I told you, no stairway denied!

Number 7- Boston- More Then A Feeling

I know what you think, what is better then Stairway to Heaven? Well I'll tell you, it's Bostons rock anthem, More Then A Feeling. The song just has that undesirable feeling, you know what I'm talking about guys. Like when you hear that song its just something comes over you. And it's a great feeling, no pun intended. There is not a single flaw with this song as all of it's aspects are perfect. From the drums to the guitar which is at rock's peak, it all works.

But the thing that highlights the entity of this song is Brad Delp Boston's lead singer. The man is one of the greatest front men of all time and its tragic that he took his own life two years ago. But his talent won't soon be forgotten and neither will his pipes on their most popular track. The lyrics are out of this world. “When I'm tired and thinking cold, I hide in my music forget the day and dream of a girl I used to know, I close my eyes and I slip away.” It all just works and it is delivered so passionately through the vocals. Not to mention the overpowering guitar work that is in the song.

More Then A Feeling earns its spot not just on my favorite songs of all time, but as one of the best songs of all time period. Everything about it just comes together and it has kept fans of rock and roll happy for many years. Long live Boston and I know that this song will be cranked up in my car with the windows down sooner then later.

Well folks four songs down, six to go and I promise it's only just getting started. The next two songs are iconic and have earned their place amongst history. So stay tuned as numbers 6 & 5 will be available tomorrow.
