Idol Recap: Top 10 go Motown
Smokey Robinson is this week's mentor and for the most part the Idols are just alright. Not many stand out performances tonight and there are quite a few people in my opinion that could reach the bottom 3. So on with the recap:
-Matt Giraud- Sings Lets Get it On.
Recap: I think he kills it. He does a good job, and his voice is starting to emerge as one of the best overall in the competition.
Judges: Randy loves it, and the rest seem to enjoy it as well. Simon thinks he is becoming a front runner.
TK's take: Safe for sure, into the top 9.
-Kris Allen- sings How Sweet it is to be loved by you.
Recap: Does a good job, nothing special for me personally, but does a good enough job.
Judges: Say they make his mark on the song, positive reviews.
TK's take: Safe and into the top 9.
-Scott MacIntyre- sings Can't Hurry Love.
Recap: Can't choose the right song to save his life, loves female songs for some reason, kind of odd, but wasn't that good this week.
Judges: Paula likes it, shocker, Simon loves it.
TK's take: Bottom 3
-Megan Joy- sings Once in My Life.
Recap: I don't like her tonight at all, voice is all over the place, tries to make it sound completely un Motown
Judges: Say she might of cost herself big tonight, call it a train wreck
TK's take: Bottom 3 for sure!
-Anoop Desai- sings Oh Baby Baby
Recap: Does a great job with the song. Has become very consistent since the beginning.
Judges: Pretty good job, Simon enjoys it.
TK's take: Safe and into the top 9.
-Michael Sarver- sings Ain't to Proud to Beg (think that's the title).
Recap: It's alright, he sounds the same week to week, doesn't do anything that stands out.
Judges: Don't like it at all.
TK's take: Bottom 3
-Lil Rounds, sings Heatwave.
Recap: She sounds the same week in and week out. Nothing special or unique, and I think she should of killed it this week, but didn't.
Judges: Are kind of disappointed, Paula of course loves it, but the rest aren't pleased.
TK's take: Could be a bottom 3 contender, but should be safe.
-Adam Lambert, sings Tracks of my Tears.
Recap: Have never heard the song before, but Adam makes me want to go to itunes and download the song. He kills it again this week and with the acoustic version he does, makes it even cooler and so laid back, great job.
Judges: Standing ovation from Cara, the rest just praise him.
TK's take: Safe for sure, easily into the top 9.
-Danny Gokey, sings Get Ready.
Recap: Does an ok job this week. Was a good performance, had a stupid dance move in between verses but otherwise was just a normal Danny performance.
Judges: Liked it, but thought he could of done way better. Simon says it's clumsy, he says that a lot lately.
TK's take: Safe again, into the top 9.
-Allison Iraheta, sings Papa Was A Rollingstone.
Recap: BEST of the night. She kills the song, and she's freaking 16. Has the potential to win the entire show and could debut at number 1 I think, has a tremendous voice.
Judges: Love her, dopest singer around, they all love her.
TK's take: Goes from bottom 3 last week to top vote getter this week, into the top 9.
So for those paying attention, I have been good with my predictions through 2 weeks. I've had the person going home in my bottom three each week, and this week it'll continue.
Recap of bottom 3:
-Scott MacIntyre
-Megan Joy
-Michael Sarver (3a)
-Lil Rounds (3b) so close to call.
In the end Motown week victim going home is going to be Scott MacIntyre with Megan Joy remaining safe from going home.
That is TK's take on Idol Motown week!
