South Side Irish Parade cancelled for 2010

Ok lets just start this off by saying that yes I'm Irish, and yes I have never attended one of these things. Am I angry and outraged over this news that the South Side Irish Parade has been cancelled next year.... ABSOLUTELY NOT! I think the parade is a joke. It is nothing more then an excuse for people to walk around and act like complete and utter idiots. I don't need to have a parade to celebrate the fact that I'm Irish and neither should anyone else. The parade isn't taken seriousaly anyways. Face it, the only reason people go is to get drunk, and that's just stupid. I can argue this all day long and I won't back down. Think about it! If you go there you're not going there because you're Irish you're going there because it's just an excuse to get drunk and act stupid. You know this to be true, I think this is a great thing to happen because it will cut down on the stupid drunken stupidity that is the parade. Now for those thinking I'm nothing more then a party pooper, I'm really not. I like to go out to a bar or stay at home and drink some beer with the best of them, but give me a break, we don't need a parade that has 300,000 stupid drunk idiots.

I think this is great news. So the bars won't have a great day of sales, get over it. Alcohol is a big enough problem in this society and to push it on people, a lot of whom are underage is stupid. I can't even begin to count how many facebook photo albums i saw created about the parade. If we want to celebrate being irish, lets think of something more appropriate shall we? Irish aren't just known for drinking you know. I really couldn't be happier about this, and for those who think I'm stupid, go ahead, say what you will. I guess all you party animals will have to find another day to go walk around and get drunk out in public now.
