TK's favorite TV shows currently on the air.

So a wise man advised me, nay suggested that I use my blog to tell the world my favorite shows on television right now. So I'm taking his words of wisdom and ranking my favorite shows. I'll describe why they are my favorite with logical facts and just some insight to what makes these shows work.

When it comes to ranking my favorite shows, the first thing that comes to my mind is which show do I have to make sure I'm home to watch live? Stupid thing to think of but think about it people. We all have our select shows that we can't miss, and you know it's true.

TK'S FAVORITE TV SHOWS:
1. The Office (NBC). This show is the top dog on the list and has risen from out of nowhere to take the crown. I love this show and consider this probably as my 2nd favorite television series of all time as of right now, but that might be changing. I think this show has the greatest ensemble of actors on it, all who play their characters to perfection. From Michael Scott, to Creed Bratton. From Ryan Howard to Phyllis. And from Toby to Dwight K. Schrute. I didn't even mention Jim and Pam. All of these characters play such vital parts to this show and to take any of them away in my opinion would hurt the show. This show week in and week out delivers such memorable moments that tell the story of the Office.
To me this show contains the best love story in TV history, yes history. Jim and Pam ever since we were introduced to them in season 1 has been amazing and such a thrill to watch and see unfold. The two of them are so perfect for one another it's ridiculous, and it makes me want to find my own Pam Beasley. The way Michael Scott runs the branch is a little head scratching at times, but we all have a boss like that at least during one point in time.

That is why The Office, is number 1.

2. '24' (Fox). Five words- Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer. What can I say about this show that hasn't been said. This show minus last season that was impacted by the writers strike has delievered some of the best drama in history of the world!! '24' is one of the rare shows out there that still can deliver from season to season without getting tiresome. This current season which is season 7 in this writer's opinion is one of the show's best and is only getting better each week. We're not even halfway through the season, which is scary. Jack Bauer to me is the greatest television character the world's ever seen. He knows how to get the job done when others turn their heads and cower for fear of stepping over the line. And as I mentioned, the Office is my 2nd favorite show in history, '24' is the show that is my favorite of all time.

The show's had it's history of other characters who we'll always remember, most notably President Palmer, Bill Buchannon, Aaron Pierce, Michelle and of course Tony Almeida. Without these characters 24 never would of gotten off the ground and these are all characters fans of the show came to love and geniunally care about, well maybe that's just me, In case you can't tell, I take '24' pretty seriousaly. The show offers up plot twists and backstabbing that is so unpredictable it's amazing, long live '24'.

3. Heroes (NBC). While some may laugh at this selection being so high, I'm not laughing. Heroes is a show that at one point I thought was the best thing since the invention of the wheel. Season 1 of this show to me is one of the finest seasons' in recent memory of anything. Drama and character plots were so perfectly intertwined it was sick. But as most tv fanatics know now, the show has taken a turn for the worst. A disapointing second season and for the early part of the third season, Heroes has struck an iceberg, but don't worry, it's turning around.

The second half of the current season has proven that the writers and creators of the show seem to know what their doing and are starting to get back to the basics. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the show needs to kill some people off, and keep them dead, but word is there are some deaths coming to heroes, so hell yeah. The show when it wants to be can be one of the finer dramas on tv but lately it has gotten away from that. There are so many good actors/characters on the show and if just properly looked at and thought of, it will return to it's greatness.

4. Fringe (Fox). This show to me has got it all. Interesting events that can't be explained and characters who I can relate to, except for all the weird science experiments lol. Fringe is the newest show on this countdown and has been stellar week in and week out. From J.J. Abrams (Lost, Cloverfield), he offers fans twists and the craziest events known as the Pattern. Olivia along with Dr. Bishop and his son, Peter, the show's three main characters all work so well together in order to solve these strange phenomenon's. If you haven't started watching this show, which returns in April to conclude it's first season, jump on board, or catch up online because it's a show you should be watching.

5. Dexter (Showtime). Much thanks go out to Brendan and Paul for turning me onto this show, and my god I haven't stopped watching since. Michael C. Hall is the world's most likeable serial killer and I don't care who knows it. This show is one of the greats on television. Each season and each episode stand out and offers twists no one sees coming, and I think that Dexter is probably the most well written show out there. Everything is tied together perfectly and just flows, all the makings of a good no great show.

6. Family Guy (Fox). Oh how the mighty have fallen. If I had this blog a year ago this show would be much higher on the list but the show has run into a creative wall. I'm currently working on a state of family guy address, so I won't dwelve into all the problems this show faces, but there are a lot. While this show still is one of the funniest shows on television, lately it hasn't been bad. The show still offers up jaw dropping moments, lines that make you cry till it hurts, and can still be great. I just hope that in the upcoming weeks it gets better. (STAY TUNED FOR STATE OF FAMILY GUY, coming to Tk's tidbits).

7. Lie to Me (Fox). This show which only debuted earlier this year has quickly become one of my new favorite's that I can't miss. This show is so cool and offers up fans something new. Based on a team of facial expression recognition specialists, they are called by other agencies to help step in and solve crimes, murders, you name it. Led by Tim Roth whose such an underrated actor, who plays Dr. Lightman, he is the king of detecting the liars. Their methods aren't always natural or the right way but they get the job done. For those who aren't watching Lie to Me, tune in to Wed's on Fox and see what you're missing.

8. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Fox). I'm one of the few people who have watched it from day one. I love this show and hope it doesn't get cancelled. The show is starting to pick up at a rapid pace and things are happening and I want to see a proper conclusion. The show has been slow at times, but my god give it a chance Fox. The actors all play their characters well and the writing on the show isn't bad, so I don't understand why more people don't watch it, so please help this show out.

9. True Blood (HBO). Ok I'm probably one of the few who actually watched this show from the beginning before all the stupid twilight hype. This show is fantastic and airs during the summer on HBO. For those who don't know it centers around a small town of folks who have vampires in it. The vampires are an everyday part of society and people don't seem to mind, well some do, and there in lies the drama. The show revolves around Sookie played by Anna Paquin who won an award for her performance and the vampire Bill played by Stephen Moyer. The show is also one of the better written ones out there and with season two set to kick off in a few months it's not to late to watch season one and get on board for season two. I'll be waiting.

SHOWS NOT ON THE LIST, BUT STILL WATCH WEEKLY:
-American Idol (I have watched a few of the zillion of seasons with this one being one of them. There are some good singers and always love seeing the bickering of the judges)
-Rock of Love Bus (Guilty. I have watched all of the Rock of Love seasons and just can't get enough, it's such a guilty pleasure)
-Saturday Night Live (watch it only if there is a good host, otherwise show has gotten so bad it's not funny. Suggestion- fire Andy Samberg, what's his appeal, god he sucks!)
-Trust Me- (I really wanted to give this show a chance but it just doesn't seem to go anywhere and it's a shame. The show has two great leads, Eric McCormick and Tom Cavanagah, but god it's not doing anything for me, it's on thin ice)

Any other shows on the list that I should be watching and am not? Let me know what you think of my list. Agree or disagree?
