American Idol Top 3: Boys Club takes center stage

American Idol Top 3 Rewind: 300th episode!

Well I did mention last week that I wouldn't be surprised if Allison went home last week and she did. So it's down to the boys club- Kris, Danny and Adam. This week the kids went home and we get to hear two songs from each.

Theme- Judges pick and personal pick.

So without further a due, let's get on with the show.

-Danny Gokey, sings Dance Little Sister chosen by Paula Abdul.
Recap: Um what song is this? Anyways, out of all the songs they could of chosen, what in hell made them choose to land on this one? It's got a catchy beat but I don't think his voice sounds stellar on the song. They should of gone with something a bit more current and I think he would of nailed it. He does an alright job on the song this week but I just think the thing that hurts him hear is the terrible song he is forced to sing. He does close the song out well though and has very good energy throughout.
Judges: Randy says let the games begin, and calls it dope. Kara calls the dancing a bit too gyrating, um this is a singing competition bitch, Paula says he does really good and Simon says dancing was bad, but vocally it was good.
TK's take: Judges give him mixed reviews as do I but all will be announced at the end.

-Kris Allen, sings Apologize chosen by Randy and Kara.
Recap: Before it starts, I think it's an excellent choice. It starts off as a bit of a sound a like for me but the melody is changed up a bit but after a while you start to hear Kris come through. I personally think he could of done more with the song but he keeps it very close to the original and I don't know I guess I was expecting a bit more. It's kind of a slow, boring performance and sorry Kris it doesn't earn many points with me.
Judges: Randy says it's the type of artists he can be, Kara calls it a very confident performance but it falls a bit flat, Paula says she is proud of him but doesn't really critique the performance, and Simon calls out Kara but it wasn't as good as the original. Judges are getting angry with each other.
TK's take: Well that was interesting, so far Danny and Kris have both fallen a bit flat.

-Adam Lambert, sings One by U2, chosen by Simon.
Recap: I'm excited, it's a huge vocal song and just a great song. Where Adam has exceeded all season long is his ability to make songs his own and of course he does it again tonight. He rearranges the song into something no one has heard before. He once again sings the song quite well and separates himself from the other two by a mile so far tonight. He knows how to capture the moment with each performance and like I've said he'll be in the finals.
Judges: Randy calls him in the zone, Kara calls him a strategist, and says what I just said in my recap, Paula calls it one brilliant song and one superb performance, and Simon calls it a brilliant song choice and says it was brilliant.
TK's take: Easily the best of the night so far, easily! Did I mention easily?

ROUND ONE WINNER: EASILY ADAM LAMBERT!

On with round two:
-Danny Gokey, sings You Are So Beautiful.
Recap: Again another interesting song choice and while he tones it down a lot to begin with, I'm not sure I'm completely a fan of it. He sounds very good but it's just way too slow for me. I like him on the more up tempo songs and this one is the polar opposite. He does a great job vocally which is what it's all about but performance wise, he could of done something more energetic, cause in my opinion that's when he is at his best. Great closing on the song and nails it.
Judges: Randy says he can really really sing, Kara calls it stunning, Paula says it left us breathless, and Simon calls it a vocal masterclass.
TK's take: There's the Danny I've liked all season long. Great vocals.

-Kris Allen, sings Heartless.
Recap: Well I hate this song and it's original artist, so chances are this performance will be awful. Sorry folks but his voice doesn't work on a song like this, at least to me. I think this could be the final time we see Kris perform on the Idol stage. I don't think he does anything to set himself ahead of Danny. It's a good vocal performance but overall I don't think it works.
Judges: Randy says he likes that version better then the original, Kara calls it bold and fearless, Paula says this is what keeps him relevant, and Simon calls it a very good performance.
TK's take: He redeems himself to the judges, but for me it was just whatever.

-Adam Lambert, sings Cryin.
Recap: First off, hell yeah, one of my favorite ballads, and yes Steven Tyler is the man. He is meant to be a rock and roll lead singer. He sounds absolutely amazing on this track except for the backup singer in the background, her voice was annoying. He however just rocks the song and the arrangement is killer. And the high note is fantastic. He sets himself apart from the other guys by another mile as he like I said earlier makes the song his own and I've never heard Cryin sound like that.
Judges: Randy says he is one of the best ever on the stage and should be a rock star, Kara wonders how he hits the notes that he does, Paula loves it and says we'll see you in the finals, and Simon says he deserves to be in the finals based on his talent.
TK's take: Easily the best two songs of the night, no questions asked.

Best of the night: Adam Lambert times two.

Worst of the night: Kris Allen's heartless, sorry not a good song choice.

So as far as whose going home, it's not going to be Adam and if it is I'm done watching the show, because he is clearly the most talented person on the entire show.

GOING HOME- KRIS ALLEN

FINAL TWO- ADAM LAMBERT VS. DANNY GOKEY

TK out!
