This is the one network where if I stop and think I don't think I watch a single show. But after seeing their fall lineup, things might change. With around 10 new shows debuting later on this year ABC is hoping to get back to basics. Family comedies and some new dramas are intermixed and they have recruited some big names as well. Kelsey Grammar, Patricia Heaton, Courntey Cox and Ed O'Neill highlight four new shows that will surprisingly all debut on the same night.
Gone- Samantha Who? According to Jim, Life on Mars, Surviving Suburbia, Boston Legal and The Unusuals.
Monday's: Dancing with the Stars and Castle
Tuesday's: Shark Tank (New), Dancing with the Stars Results show and The Forgotten (New).
Wednesday's: Hank (New- Grammar,) The Middle (New- Heaton,) Modern Family (New- O'Neill,) Cougar Town (New- Cox,) and Eastwick (New.)
Thursday's: Flash Forward (New,) Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.
Friday's: Supernanny, Ugly Betty and 20/20.
Sunday's: America's Funniest Home Videos, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters.
Other programming note:
The Bachelor will air Monday nights from 8:00-10:00 p.m. following the run of Dancing With the Stars, and Scrubs and Better Off Ted will air at 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., respectively, following the run of Dancing with the Stars The Results Show.
TK's take: Well two networks have announced their shows so far and my God Thursday night is going to be a dog fight for the ratings. It's practically how Monday night was this year. FOX has Bones and Fringe, ABC has Grey's and Private, while NBC will still have their comedy shows and CBS most likely will stick with CSI so holy ratings BATMAN!
The new shows on Wed. night are also a bit of a risky move for the network but they do look funny, most notably Modern Family starring Ed O'Neill. Cougar Town has gotten a lot of buzz and I've always been a fan of Courtney Cox so I'll probably tune in to see what it's all about.
Ugly Betty be moved to Friday night is the ultimate kiss of death, so Betty fans enjoy the show while you can because it's not going to be around past this season.
