Hello folks,
In what is going to be a monthly routine for me cause I'm obsessed with the world of television, I'm going to be breaking it down channel by channel as the major networks announce their fall schedules along with yours and mine favorite shows either being picked up or canned, so keep it here for all of that. (Networks don't announce schedules till mid-May.)
As for today, NBC which is the network I probably watch the most announced that they have picked up 6 new series- 4 drama and 2 comedy. But before we get to that NBC first announced the pickups of some of it's regular shows including Heroes, Southland, Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday, and Parks and Recreation. The news is quite relieving for me as I'm just an absolute die hard Heroes fanatic as all of you know as I write recaps of it each week and I'm very glad to see that Parks and Recreation has been picked up as the show is coming into it's own.
Other shows not mentioned in today's headlines but were picked up a couple of weeks ago include The Office, 30 Rock, Biggest Loser, Celebrity Apprentice, Law & Order: SVU, and Friday Night Lights.
(As for other NBC favorites most notably Chuck, NBC doesn't plan on annoucning it's fate until their full fall schedule is released in a couple of weeks.)
Some of the new shows I was talking about include:
-Day One- This is the show I'm most looking forward too. This show deals with the Earth after it has just suffered a catastrophe. A group of survivors are now forced to rebuild society and are left with trying to put the puzzle pieces together to figure out what has just happened to man kind.
-Parenthood- The show actually looks promising. The cast is full of big names including Craig T. Nelson, Peter Krause, Maura Tierney and Dax Shepard. A single mother with two kids moves back and home and deals with all the things that stem from family issues. The show is produced by the powerhouse team of Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, so not too shabby.
-Trauma- The show is just what it's title is, the world of paramedics and how they are always on the scene first and just what it is they go through. Sounds rather interesting and well while it's not for me, I'm sure some will enjoy it.
In addition to these shows there are: Mercy, 100 Questions and Community.
