TK's May Movie Preview

This is what summer is all about and this to me is the thing that kicks off the summer season- big blockbuster movies. And the way the summer is shaping up I think I'll be at the movies every Friday for the next three months, so that's a good thing. May is chalk full of huge blockbusters, some re-boots of franchises, and of course a come to life sequel. Fans of all genres of movies will have something to see in May and TK is here to help you with his continuation of his Spring/Summer Movie Preview: May!!!

X-men Origins: Wolverine (May 1)

TK's take: This movie is near the top of my list for the entire summer. I've always been a fan of the comic books and was a big fan of the X-men franchise. I think this movie will be quite interesting. By that I mean how they tell the story of how he became Wolverine, and the other new mutants we get to meet in this movie, that we didn't see in the other films.

Gambit, Sabertooth, I just can't freaking wait. The movie is going to be full of action and killer fight scenes and should be one of the biggest grossing films of the year and I can't think of a better way to kick off the summer movie season then with Wolverine. Rumors have already been circulating that the studio is currently working on a script for a sequel.

Star Trek (May 8)

TK's take: I'm going to be honest, I know nothing about the entire world that is Star Trek. This movie interests me for a couple of reasons. One, the director- J.J. Abrams, whose credits include Lost, Mission Impossible 3 and Cloverfield. The cast is pretty packed to as it boasts: Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine, Eric Bana and Anton Yelchin too name a few.

The movie appears to be full of action and should draw a whole new crowd to this well known franchise. I am excited to learn about this whole world and the movie appears to look pretty tight, at least what I've seen in the trailers. And with a good director and a young cast, fans will flock to see this movie myself included.

Angels and Demons (May 15)

TK's take: Now while this movie isn't exactly my cup of joe the previews actually look rather interesting. The movie re teams Ron Howard as director and Tom Hanks as the movie's stars and also boasts Ewan McGregor. Mysterious things are happening and secrets are coming out of the darkness.

After an age old secret is uncovered, Langdon (Hanks)is called back in to unravel an age old secret before something terrible happens that threatens the way of our very lives. There is danger around every turn and someone or something is watching them along the way. I didn't see The DaVinci code but this movie does appear to be interesting, so it's got that going for it.

Terminator Salvation (May 21)

TK's take: This is probably the biggest movie I'm looking forward to seeing the entire year ladies and gentlemen. When I heard that McG was directing (Charlie's Angels 1-2), and then they landed Christian Bale (Batman) oh my god was I excited. The trailers have been blowing me away since they have debuted and the movie's plot shows great promise for this rumored trilogy of films.

Bale is going to take John Connor to a whole new level and from what I hear the action scenes in this movie are bigger and better then we've ever seen. Also with rumors of Arnold making a small cameo it only adds to the movie's growing hype. I will definitely be in line for this midnight showing so whose coming with me?

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (May 22)

TK's take: Yes I'll be at the movies two days in a row. I loved the first Night at the Museum and this time the cast has expanded to the Smithsonian museum in Washington D.C., which I've been too but whose bragging? Bill Hader and Jonah Hill along with Hank Azaria join the cast in this film along with Amy Adams and the returning Robin Williams and of course Ben Stiller. The first movie was so much fun and even had adult type humor.

The second one looks to be nothing less. The displays all come to life again but threatened by a new enemy, Azaria. Will our hero be able to stop him only time will tell. This movie is sure to be a big box office dollar machine but with Terminator opening a night before it won't do as well as most think, but it's still going to be a terrific movie none the less.

Up (May 29)

TK's take: 3D films are the rage right now and this movie actually appears to be pretty funny at least in what I've seen in the trailers. And of course if it's in 3D, I'll most likely see it. 'Monsters vs. Aliens' was a terrific movie and it was just that much cooler seeing it in 3D.

Up is about a grumpy old man whose house is tied to thousands of balloons and he sets off but is unsuspecting of a frightened little kid out on his door step who tags along with him on his journey. This movie should look spectacular in 3D and why it's obviously geared for kids, this is one adult who might just have to ask his little cousins to go see it with him, just so he can go see another 3D movie.
