Could the Joker be recasted?

No friends I'm not joking when it comes to Batman and all of it's glory but I just read an article online saying that since the Joker did not die in 'The Dark Knight' could he possibly be re casted due to Heath Ledger's passing last year? The report states it's not out of the question and I for one would consider it an ultimate slap in the face to fans of Heath and the movies if they were too recast this role. Ledger cemented his persona into this character and left his mark on cinematic history with this performance that I think is one of the greatest single character portrayals in movie history, and I will argue that point with anyone.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the name that is being tossed around and for a good reason, as he does look a lot like Heath. See below...

I do not have a problem with seeing a brief passing of him or something in a jail cell or something along those lines but to make him a featured bad guy in another movie would suck. I don't care how good of an actor they may or may not cast but no one on this planet can touch Heath and his portrayal of Gotham's most sadistic villain.

What do you guys think? Would you support the franchise if Batman and the brains behind it all re casted the Joker? Let me know what you guys think..

  1. A good replacement would be Crede from "The Office." He did a good impression on the halloween episode
